Lane quotes

In one line

Send your lanes and volumes, get a price per lane at the carrier's cost, and ship on it. The number in the quote is the number on the invoice, because nothing is added between the two.

Parcel pricing depends on your volume, your weight profile and the lanes you ship on. A single price list cannot describe that, so we quote on your lanes. You send the lanes, we come back with a price per lane at the carrier's cost, and the invoice carries that price.

Your lanes and volumes

The destination countries and, where it matters, the regions inside them. A month's volume, roughly, per lane. The typical weight and size of a parcel, or better, a sample of recent shipments with their weights. The services you need: home delivery, pickup points, express where a market expects it. And the carriers you already ship with, because the answer may be to keep some of them. The contact page has the request form, and the simulator gives a first estimate while you gather the detail.

Price per lane

The quote gives a rate for each lane, confirmed against your volumes. Each line is the negotiated carrier price for that lane, passed through with zero markup. Negotiated rates are live in France and the United Kingdom, including the lanes between them; everywhere else you connect your own carrier accounts and your rates stay as negotiated. We are paid for the software, a subscription and per-unit fees past the plan allowance, so there is no margin riding on which carrier or which lane we propose.

The number in the quote is the number on the invoice.

Carrier choice at the label

Once you ship on the rates, the choice of carrier for each parcel is made at label creation under rules you set and your team supervises: cost, speed, destination, and whatever else you decide should win. For each label you can see which rate won and why. The rules can suggest a carrier, and the choice and the contract behind it stay yours. Address validation runs at label creation, which is the cheapest moment to catch a parcel that would otherwise come back.

The declaration on the label is yours too. Weight, dimensions and the nature of the goods are your responsibility under the carrier's terms, and where a carrier's measurement differs from your declaration it re-rates the parcel. The invoice audit reads every carrier line against the parcels you shipped and flags the re-rates, surcharges and duplicates for your team to claim back.

The invoice

Depending on the carrier and how your account is set up, transport is billed in one of three ways: the carrier invoices you directly, we re-invoice the carrier's cost to you identically, or we issue the invoice in the carrier's name under a billing mandate. Where we re-invoice, you get one consolidated invoice per period, one line per carrier used at cost, and the software on a separate line. Where the carrier bills you, we give you a statement that reads every carrier in one place. The carrier's invoice remains the document you pay. Whichever way, every label, surcharge and option is recorded line by line in a ledger you can export and reconcile with your accounting. Billing for shipping has the detail.

Freight and rate cards

Freight is quoted per lane and rebilled at the negotiated carrier cost, and Freight explains how an inbound lane is arranged. A quote never carries a partner's rate card or contract terms, which stay confidential to the carrier.

Questions we get asked.

Why are rates quoted per lane?

Because the price depends on your volume, your weights and your lanes, and a single price list that ignored those would be wrong for you. Send the lanes and you get the price per lane you will pay.

Is the quote binding?

It is the carrier's price for the lane, passed through with nothing added, so the invoice carries the same number. The parcel itself can still change a line: a re-rate when the carrier's measurement differs from your declaration, or a surcharge under the carrier's terms, which the audit flags.

Do I have to move all my carriers?

No. Keep the contracts that serve you; the labels on those lanes count against your plan allowance and nothing else changes. Our rates are for the lanes where they are better.

How does it work outside France and the UK?

Connect your own carrier accounts there. Your rates stay as negotiated, and tracking, returns, the invoice audit and the passport work the same way.
